This idea, though probably well meaning, doesn't really sit right with me. Though I understand that this is supposed to be an immediate and temporary solution to inadequate areas of respite for the homeless, the notion of transforming atm booths into this "luxurious" space seems mildly condescending and doesn't truly get at the heart of the matter. The execution of the "ATMHOTEL" collateral-an atm access card also seems pretty off mark. Its use of a pseudo-luxe aesthetics is attractive to whom really?
I have to agree. I dont know how this issue would work in a different culture but my guess is it would not work anywhere. Something like this would just create more problems. Cities need to have great solutions for homelessness in their planning. An unsupervised shelter like this would really just be giving them some fancy looking card to just be out of the way; real issues are ignored.
