There is something interesting going on here with the typographic referencing of emotions. For example, these tee shirts were all the rage, and I recall there were 'knock-offs" that were slightly quirky and then the next generation of shirts had only "RELAX" and the UK, at that time, was experiencing a major recession. There was a great deal of uncertainty and anxiety. The initial tee shirt that promoted a song about relieving sexual tension became a, somewhat larger, symbol for country unity to suggest that everything would be ok.
